Hi there! I’m Kristin, a product designer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. I have over a decade of combined experience in visual design and customer support in the tech industry; ranging from SaaS companies and small software developers, to multinational tech leaders.

I’m passionate about improving usability through empathetic design and crafting products that add value to people’s lives, while meeting important business goals.

I hold a BFA in Graphic Design from VCU School of the Arts with a minor in Psychology, and a UX/UI Design certificate from Springboard’s UX Career Track program. I also spent time studying design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.

Projects I've worked on lately:

I designed an end-to-end experience for the MVP of an iOS app focused on empowering people who are experiencing climate anxiety to develop an adaptive mindset, and build a plan to prepare themselves and their communities for climate driven impacts.

I conducted a modified Google Ventures Design Sprint on behalf of an e-commerce business called House2Home, in order to explore a potential offering for curated home decor bundles tailored to young working professionals who have recently moved into a new apartment or house.

I worked as a product design intern for an inclusive online travel startup focusing on creating a safe place for Black travelers. Here, I led a team of two other product designers to design and build an MVP prototype for an Android app to pitch seed investors.

I believe that my background in software training and customer support has given me a specialized, frontline understanding of user needs and frustrations. With patience and empathy, I’ve been able to help thousands of people over the years, which has now given me a unique perspective as a product designer.

When I’m not designing, you can find me spending time with my partner, Shiba Inu pup, and our two cats. I love to travel, hike, read, craft, garden and work on building out my mini homestead.

Thanks for stopping by my portfolio!
